HVAC, furnaces, and air conditioning in Courtenay

Whether your home relies on electric baseboards, a gas furnace, or an old oil tank, we can help you upgrade. We install and service all of them, and we will say plainly when replacing like for like makes more sense than switching. Where a heat pump is the better answer, the rebate side of it matters as much as the equipment, so we settle that before you see a price.

Air conditioning here is a summer-week problem rather than a season-long one, which is why a heat pump usually does the job — it is the same box running in reverse. Where a house already has a working furnace and ducts in good shape, adding cooling to that system is often the cheaper route. We price both when both are realistic.

Your heating and cooling system relies heavily on proper ductwork to move air efficiently. Undersized returns, crushed flex runs in a crawlspace and rooms that never quite get there are common in houses built before the 1990s. We measure static pressure and airflow rather than assuming the existing ducts are fine, and we repair or resize what is holding the system back.

We check your filters, coils, refrigerant levels, drains, and controls during our yearly service visit. We service equipment installed by other contractors and give you an honest assessment of its remaining lifespan.

We run a CSA F280-12 heat-loss calculation to set capacity and a CEC Rule 8-200 load calculation to test your electrical panel. Both happen before the number, not after it, which is why our quotes do not move much between the paperwork and the install.
