Serving the Comox Valley

About Courtenay Heat Pumps

Courtenay Heat Pumps installs and services ductless and ducted heat pumps across the Comox Valley, from Union Bay in the south to Black Creek in the north. Our installs are done by certified refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics, and we start every quote with a CSA F280-12 heat-loss calculation on your house. We would rather measure your place than guess at it.

How our trade training protects your home

Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanic is a compulsory trade in British Columbia. Only certified mechanics can legally work on the refrigerant in your system. We enter the trade by registering as apprentices, certifying as journeypersons, or applying as trade qualifiers. We put in 6,210 hours of work-based training and 33 weeks of technical training over four years to earn that standard.

Why the paperwork comes first

The Energy Savings Program requires a registered contractor, and eligibility codes stay valid for 3 months. We confirm your rebate options and required permits before ordering equipment so everything goes smoothly. You could lose rebate eligibility if the application steps are not completed in order.

Built for this valley

About 1,400 mm of rain falls on the Comox Valley each year, and modern heat pumps handle our climate with ease. On acreage lots in Merville and Black Creek, we run longer lines and zone the system for the rooms you actually use. In Cumberland, many homes have older electrical service, so we check your panel first before picking equipment. If you are on the water at Royston or Union Bay, salt air is hard on an uncoated coil. We will tell you whether the coated one is worth it for your place.

Coverage

We cover the whole Comox Valley, Union Bay in the south through to Black Creek in the north — Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Royston, Union Bay, Merville, Black Creek and Fanny Bay. If you are somewhere between those, ask us; we probably get there.

Every quote we write starts with that same CSA F280-12 heat-loss calculation on your house. The most useful thing you can do is get a free assessment — we settle your heat-loss figure, your panel question and your rebate tier in one visit.
